Why I'm Here

I came to Saint Norbert without any clear goal in mind beyond graduating the college with a degree that I could turn into a fruitful career. I had always enjoyed computers, most of my hobbies involve them, so when my advisor offered to slot me into Computer Science 110 my freshman year, I took the chance.

Once in a real computer programming environment I quickly learned how little I knew and how little everyone else knew. So many people seem to just shrugged their shoulders at technology, push some buttons, and call it magic. The more I learned, the more I couldn't accept that.

Eventually I came to the conclusion that that not only was computer science the way forward but would be the very basis for all new technology. I endeavored not to be left behind and strived to not just graduate but excelle.

Rather than be depressed with the inevitable blunders of programing and the increasing complexity of the material, I learned to relish the difficulty. Nothing worth anything comes without effort. Despite my studies in other fields I concluded I had to pursue computer science to it's fullest if I wanted to understand and contribute to the world of tomorrow.
